You know it's not, but the way some of your competitors act, you start to understand why some people may think that. Why is it that others in the industry seem to discount their entire added value as if it were baked beans in the supermarket? It seems there are too many people willing to sacrifice today's fee, especially in these uncertain times, in the hope that the client will pay a more realistic rate tomorrow.

Death to the whiteboard. – 11th December, 2008

A normal-sized silicon chip (less than 8mm wide) stores more information than the ENIAC computer – which occupied a city block. The ENIAC computer of 1949 was 80 feet long and weighed 30 tons. A cheap PC off the shelf at some bargain computer warehouse bought today would be over 50,000 times faster and store more than a million times the information.

The increase in technology has been nothing short of epic. The first VCR (made in 1956) was the size of a piano, and took years to create and build. Today, there are more than a billion transistors manufactured ...

MacUser gives Streamtime Studio Management System Thumbs Up - Streamtime Review – 1st September, 2008

Streamtime Review from MacUser UK:

Streamtime is FileMaker -based studio management software for design agencies, and is one of the most powerful tools we've seen for managing creative tasks in a business environment.

Its main window contains a clear and logical list of tabs relating, broadly chronologically, to the main parts of a design studio's work, from administration to final billing. Under the Administration tab, for example, individual users can manage their own account settings and administrators can set up access privileges. Objectified is a feature-length independent documentary about industrial design. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the people who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability.
